About this translation

The translation and notes on this site are a living, evolving text: they start as an AI draft and are cultivated by curators who revise them over time. Before you begin, it helps to understand their nature and their limits.

From a draft to a text that grows

The translation and grammatical notes for each work are first drafted by a large language model. That is a starting point, not a settled translation. After publication, curators (humans) correct errors and fold in readers' feedback and discussion, revising the text over time. It aims to be readable, but it is still a pre-final text that may contain mistranslations, misunderstandings or interpretive bias. The idea is to grow it, together with readers, steadily toward something more reliable.

On citation (mind the version)

The translation and notes here are pre-final, but you are welcome to cite them, on your own responsibility, after checking the content yourself. When you do, we recommend noting that they are an AI translation, and always reading them alongside the original and an established scholarly translation.

Important: the original, the translation and the notes are revised over time through error reports and discussion. When citing, please record the date you consulted it (the access date). Each comment has a citable link (🔗), and a passage can be referenced by its reader URL (per passage); adopted corrections can be tracked in the changelog. Where accuracy matters, always consult the original and an established scholarly translation.

About the alignment highlight

Hovering a translated sentence highlights the matching part of the source. The alignment is AI-generated across the whole text and is not guaranteed to be perfectly accurate; between languages that differ in word order and syntax it can drift.

Toward a better translation

Where a rendering is wrong or reads oddly, let us know through the comment on that sentence. Readers’ corrections and alternative renderings are reviewed by the editors and appointed curators and folded into the translation while keeping the work consistent. The community’s insight propagates across the four languages, drawing the text steadily closer to something reliable.
